Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said the fundamentals of Marxism cannot be ignored including the armed conflict as a tool to capture the state power.“What would be the fate of Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Centre) had they not waged armed conflict in the past,” Dahal said while inaugurating the National Convention of the Karl Marx Bicentennial Ceremony on Monday. The PM made such remarks after UML Vice-chairman Bamdev Gautam expressed his opinion that the significance of armed conflict as a tool to capture state power has ended, calling for a need to improve on fundamentals of Marxism.Lauding the organisers’ effort to bring in all the communist parties together, Dahal claimed that there was no greater influence of Marxism than in Nepal. The two-day gathering, being organised to mark the bicentenary birth anniversary of Karl Marx, will see well-known figures of Nepali politics discuss on different facets of Marxism and its impact on Nepali communist movement and Nepali politics. -
